In 2020, I had campaigned for the EXCO Election Campaign. Leading has always been one of my biggest passions and to me, running for Exco was a no brainer. For a span of 2 months I rallied against other strong candidates before the whole school voted for their suitable EXCO nominee. I was thankful to have been elected into the Hai Sing EXCO and it surely is an experience I will never forget. Here are some of the events and innovations we had came up with during our year long spell as EXCOS

Innovating for the School
Over my time as an EXCO, keeping the student body safe physically and mentally was my priority. Hence I took every opportunity to make simple projects appeal to the students to keep them focused and feel more secured in school. Of such are the Brochures I had prepared with my team, which ensured secondary 1 students are welcomed and informed on how to get around the school. Along with that we prepared special segments that would be placed in the brochures for them to fill up during their orientation programme.
To keep in touch with the student body, I prepared weekly games posted on social media. These were well received with over 50 students reposting and trying out the games. In fact, the students enjoyed it so much that some even made their own instagram games.
Besides the use of products to target the students interests, another concern for me was the safety in school. One of the ways the EXCOS had made school a safer place was to, have students deployed as crossing guards in the morning. These students were councillors who were rostered to different duties for at least 3 weeks each term. They patrolled the school compound, helped students with difficulties in the morning and did duties which actually ignited a sense of pride into the school. My key contribution to this was structuring a format of which documents were sent out for students to check when their duties are, along with that a track was also made to ensure no councillor is overworked or underworked. I also had enforced pathways to be made along carparks to ensure students are able to walk to class safely.
Participations
For the EXCO, I had represented the school in the Dunman High Investiture. In which representatives from different leaders in Singapore Secondary Schools had came together and shared progresses that their schools had been making. As a delegate for Hai Sing I had witnessed how the student from Dunman High had ran their Investiture before coming back to Hai Sing and learning from the opportunity to build on our own Schools events.
Besides that I had also been sent to leadership workshops and camps, some of such are the Singapore Polytechnic Lead Programme and The Legendary Leadership Summit held by Acorn Training.
